Outside Hibari's House

Gaku is sending Hibari home (after Hibari slept over at Gaku's place), and they run into Rihito outside her house.

Gaku goes, "Oh? Mr Beautiful?" upon seeing Rihito and is confused. He looks around and asks Hibari where her house is. She points at the door tag next to her, which says "Akanishi" (her family name).

Gaku seems to be processing this information, while Rihito goes, "For now, why don't you have some tea?"

Inside Hibari's House

At Hibari's dining table, there are 3 glasses of iced tea, but while Hibari and Rihito are seated at the dining table, Gaku is lounging on the sofa.

He has found out that Rihito is staying in Hibari's house, and he says that he wants to stay, too. Rihito asks Gaku to watch his manners (because Gaku is a visitor), but Gaku responds by asking what Hibari's mother is good at making, and that he wants to eat croquettes next time. 😂

Hibari thinks to herself that Gaku is so carefree, it's kinda scary. However, before she can say anything, she gets a call on her phone. It's from the ramen shop and the boss is asking her to come in now, because the person supposedly on the morning shift backed out at the last minute.

While packing her things, Hibari apologizes and tells the guys that she needs to go to her part-time job. Gaku goes up to her and says that he will return after chatting with Rihito. Hibari goes, "?! Excuse me but you're leaving with me!"

Gaku simply responds by kissing Hibari on the cheek, smiling at her and going, "Don't worry." Hibari touches her cheek and blushes, then leaves her house in a huff. She thinks to herself, 'Ahh- Geez! Only for today!! I'm just worried about leaving Gaku at home--'

Gaku and Rihito

Gaku is now seated at the dining table across from Rihito. Rihito says that this is just nice, because he wanted to talk. Gaku asks if he can go first.

Gaku: Baihuu's live was super awesome. I can't write songs like that. It was a shock to me.
Rihito: That's unexpected.
Gaku: Why? I really like your songs, Mr. Beautiful! It's not just your face that's good - I really wanted to tell you this.

Rihito looks a little embarrassed, but recovers and asks Gaku if Gaku still remembers what he said after Pantera Negra's live (old-school, sweaty, on a school festival's level). Rihito elaborates that he said it like that, but he didn't mean it as a bad thing. He says that Gaku's tone quality and volume are unique and should be further polished.

Gaku is amazed and touched at Rihito's words and is about to hug and thank him, but Rihito covers Gaku's mouth and says that he has no intention of getting close with Gaku.

Rihito: To begin with, I'm against the fact that you're dating Hibari. This is a picture Hibari drew of me when we were in elementary school. And this is a pressed flower that she gave to me to cheer me up. I'm the one who knew Hibari since we were kids.
Gaku: That's kinda gross, Mr. Beautiful. (Even though you're good-looking.)
Rihito: What's gross?
Gaku: You like her? Hibari?
Rihito: Yes. All of my songs are for her.

Gaku stares at Rihito for a moment, then he chuckles. Gaku says confidently, "Heh- Too bad. The day Baihuu sings 'Mutual Love' will never come."

Shortly after, Gaku is having ramen at Hibari's part-time place (the ramen shop) and Hibari is going, "You didn't say anything strange, did you? Was it okay?" and Gaku answers that he tried to hug Rihito, but got refused.

Hibari: You tried to hug him?!
Gaku: Ah- It's no good- Eating ramen has made me even more hungry-
Hibari: Are you listening to me?!

Meanwhile, Rihito is in the car with his agent, who asks him what he's mulling over. Rihito answers cryptically, "I need to move."

Time Passes

The narration explains that summer break is over and the intense summer heat is starting to go away. It's also close to the university's cultural festival.

At school, Hibari's bespectacled friend (I forgot her name but Hibari calls her Ecchan) collapses on the table, saying that the executive committee is getting busy. Hibari and Airi cheer her on, saying that the cultural festival is in a month's time.

Ecchan suddenly gets pumped up and shares that the theme of the cultural festival this year is "Love". She then asks Hibari and Airi what they will be doing. Airi answers that she and Hibari are in charge of designing and making T-shirts, so they will be displaying and selling T-shirts, but at separate booths (adjacent to each other).

Hibari says that she's not looking forward to it and Airi asks why. Hibari explains that in her first year, she was assigned to sell postcards, and she made almost no sales - it was a traumatic experience. However, Airi tries to reassure her by saying that they'll make the T-shirts cute, so it'll be okay - it would also be a waste to just stop at designing the band's poster.

Ecchan asks what band's poster, and Airi proudly shows her the poster that Hibari designed for Pantera Negra. Ecchan is impressed and says that it's unusual for Hibari to be working on something outside of school assignments. Airi and Ecchan tease, "It must be love."

Banned?

Ecchan remembers something and says that Pantera Negra has been banned from doing live performances at the school, which shocks Airi and surprises Hibari. They ask why and what happened.

Ecchan shares that the band previously ignored the schedule and kept on singing, resulting in other bands jeering at them. Airi defends that the audience was very lively. Ecchan is surprised that Hibari doesn't know about this (Hibari didn't know because she was selling postcards the whole time).

Hibari thinks about how Gaku had said that he wanted to perform at school and wonders if he knows about the ban. However, her calls are not reaching him. She decides to look for Jouichirou (the band's leader) and asks Airi if she knows where the sculpture department is (Airi knows, of course 😌)

Meeting with the Band Members

Hibari and Airi find Jouichirou. He tells them that he and Kyouhei heard about the news recently.

Meanwhile, Hibari and Airi are looking at what's behind Jouichirou and are blushing like tomatoes. He notices their expressions and explains to them that every year, the sculpting students construct a mikoshi for the cultural festival. This time, the mikoshi that they seem to be making seems to be "Symbol of a Man" (you can guess what it is).

Going back to the topic, Jouichirou says that he wants to relay the news to Gaku, but he's too busy, and can't reach Gaku. He says that Gaku might be talking to Kyouhei. He then thanks and apologizes to the girls.

The girls find Kyouhei. He's busy drawing manga, and angrily complains that he doesn't know what Gaku's up to. He adds that it was Gaku's fault that it became like that, and as a result he has less opportunities to become popular. Hibari comments that he's good at drawing manga.

Kyouhei calms down a little and suggests that Gaku might be talking with Momo, so the girls head on to the spatial design department.

Momo is busy working on the sewing machine, making costumes. He tells them that Gaku came by earlier to say "We'll be able to perform the live, so don't worry". Hibari wonders if the problem has been resolved and Airi says, "...Isn't that great!"

The girls then ask Momo about his work, if he's making clothes for a fashion show. He explains that he asked Gaku to be his model and try on the clothes.

Momo adds that there's no need to worry about the live performance, because Gaku seems to be going around, doing something about it. Hibari looks relieved when she hears that, and Airi says to her that they should also work hard at their own tasks.

Lesson Time

Hibari is now having a class. She's seated at the last row, next to a window.

She thinks about the other band members and how hard they were working. She thinks that they looked radiant even though it seemed tough. Meanwhile, she feels bad about her attitude towards the T-shirt stall.

As she's lost in her thoughts, she hears some noise from the window. It's Gaku! Who has appeared at the window! It's the 4th storey, so Hibari is shocked. Gaku hops off the windowsill and does a ninja roll on the ground. The lecturer somewhat notices and asks, "Oh? Did you just come in from outside?"

Gaku and Hibari

Hibari exasperatedly whispers to Gaku that it's dangerous and he needs to stop making a beeline towards her. (Recall Gaku jumping 3 storeys down towards Hibari in Chapter 6). Gaku simply answers that he could see her from below.

Gaku asks if something happened, because she gave him lots of missed calls. She explains to him that she was concerned about whether or not he was aware of their live performance being banned. When Gaku hears that, he assures her that everything is fine.

He explains that he went to apologize to the people from last year and did various tasks that they asked of him (including moving heavy objects for them, cleaning the gymnasium, taking on an eating challenge).

Hibari remarks that it doesn't seem like Gaku to do those things, and Gaku goes, "Really?"

He lies down and rests his head on Hibari's lap, saying that it's because Hibari made him the poster, so he absolutely wanted to sing. Hibari blushes a little upon hearing that and she thinks to herself that Gaku going so far for this is the exact opposite of how she is right now.

T-shirts

Gaku grabs Hibari's notebook from her table and asks if she's going to be at the T-shirt booth. Hibari unenthusiastically answers that she doesn't know yet - it's just because Airi invited her to do it.

Sitting up, Gaku says that he'd want to wear T-shirts designed by Hibari. After thinking for a moment, Gaku sketches out some of the ideas that Hibari scribbled in her notebook (T-shirts with a skull design, pistol design, black panther design). Seeing the sketches, Hibari suddenly gets inspired and gets more ideas. Two of them proceed to scribble and sketch on her notebook some more.

In a short time, her notebook is full of sketches, and Gaku remarks, "Nice- That was fast-" and lays his head on Hibari's lap again. Hibari is amazed at how she became excited about it in an instant, thanks to Gaku.

Gratitude

She thanks Gaku, saying that she was getting cold feet over various things again. In response, Gaku takes Hibari's hand and kisses it.

This surprises Hibari so much, she snatches her hand away quickly, and it seems like she was raising her hand. The lecturer sees her hand and thought she wanted to ask a question, but Hibari quickly says that it was nothing.

Seeing Hibari's reaction, Gaku chuckles a little, saying, "Even though we've had even more amazing kisses?", which causes Hibari to blush furiously.

Doors are So Yesterday

Gaku then proceeds to leave via the window, shocking Hibari. However, Gaku tells her to rest assured. He says that if she has any unsold T-shirts, he'll buy them all. With a "Let's have fun at the festival!", Gaku disappears through the window.

Hibari tries to check outside the window to see if Gaku is safe (and still alive 😂) while her lecturer asks her if something happened.

Prepping for the Festival!

Hibari texts Airi to confirm that she will work on the T-shirt stall and they gear up to prepare for the cultural festival.

(Airi wonders out loud to Hibari if she should confess to Jouichirou during the festival. Hibari asks if it's too early.)

Then, it's the day of the festival! We see Jouichirou wearing a fundoshi, overseeing the moving of the sculpture that the sculpting department made (the sculpture is censored because ahem, the mangaka is leaving it to your discretion).
