Rikuto VS Sora

Picking up immediately from the previous chapter, Hinata can sense the tension and rivalry between Rikuto and Sora.

Sora playfully asks Rikuto not to glare at him. He also says that he has business to take care of after this, so he doesn't have time to deal with Rikuto.

When Rikuto asks, "Business...?", Sora returns a condescending look, going, "Yes. It's important..."

An announcement goes off for the 3rd year girls' obstacle course to begin. Sora suddenly whips out his phone and looks like a fanboy, snapping pictures of Kanon. He cheers for her and says that he will make sure to take pictures of her being slow.

Sora happily remarks that Kanon is cute, how she's always been bad at sports. He also notices that Rikuto isn't taking any pictures. Rikuto answers that he doesn't need to - he's the type to burn the image into his mind.

Hinata watches their exchange from aside and thinks to himself, 'So Azami-senpai is this sort of person...'

Returning to the Sharehouse

Later, on the way back, Hinata shares with Rikuto that he also didn't know much about Sora, as he only managed to greet him previously. As a 3rd year, Sora is busy with club activities, so he didn't get to see Sora much.

Rikuto says that when he thinks about how Sora is around, he becomes unwilling to return to the sharehouse. However, Hinata tries to reassure Rikuto that he hasn't heard anything bad about Sora, so nothing will change.

When the two step into their sharehouse and announce their return, they are greeted by the sight of Hamayuu, Seiya and Sena bowing in deference to Sora and referring to Sora as, "My Lord!"

(They're all comically dressed in olden day samurai clothing)

Updates

(The boys are all still comically acting the role of shogun and samurai)

Shogun Sora asks if anything has changed with the boys. He is updated that Sena has gotten a girlfriend. He then marvels that it's auspicious and rewards Sena with pudding (Sena thanks him gratefully).

Watching the scene, Hinata and Rikuto are bewildered. Sora greets Rikuto, which surprises the second years, as they thought that Sora and Rikuto hadn't met before.

Sora explains that he met Rikuto at the sports festival and Rikuto had tried to lay a hand on his Kanon. Hamayuu is shocked and exclaims that it is disrespectful, as Kanon (he comically addresses her as Princess) is Sora's property.

Shenanigans

Rikuto is now also comically dressed in samurai clothing and he reports that it's because Kanon said that she didn't have a boyfriend. However, Rikuto realizes something and asks Sora if he and Kanon used to date.

Sora goes, "Of course...", but Sena interjects to clarify that it's not true. Sora just one-sidedly adores Kanon. Infuriated at being outed, Sora threatens Sena to give back the pudding he gave.

Rikuto boldly states that it doesn't make sense to claim that he was being disrespectful. Rather, he and Sora should be rivals.

Irked, Sora demands to understand from Hamayuu, what happened to educating the juniors. Hamayuu nervously explains that this is his first time hearing about Kanon. Sora berates Hamayuu for his poor supervision, asking if Hamayuu has forgotten his debt to him. Hamayuu is lost for words.

(When Hamayuu had the flu, Sora was the one who replaced him in the drama club and he had to cram the entire script into his head within a day.)

Sora further asks, "Who was the one who lined up for the limited edition puddings?" (meaning Sena is indebted to him). "Who helped to chase away the giant spider from their room?" (Seiya is afraid of spiders, so this also means Seiya is indebted to Sora.)

All three of the 2nd year boys simultaneously say, "Azami-senpai!", and Sora proudly goes, "Right?"

Time to Eat

Hamayuu looks very reluctant and distressed while he tells Rikuto, "Rikkun, don't say anything bad, give up on the princess..."

However, their entire skit is interrupted by Yamabuki (the brother), who's holding a big pot, announcing that dinner is ready. It's yakisoba.

At the sight of food, all of the boys revert to their original selves and forget their earlier discussion, going, "Yayyyyy, it's yakisoba--- ❤❤❤". They all enjoy the meal together.

After Dinner

Later, Hinata realizes that Sora is missing and asks where he went. Seiya answers that Sora went to take a bath.

At the dining table, Hamayuu sighs that somehow, because of dinner, their discussion regarding Kanon wasn't resolved, which is a somewhat good thing for Rikuto.

Rikuto notes out loud that all of the 2nd years seem to be weak against Sora. Seiya clarifies that it's not that they're weak, more like indebted to Sora. Hamayuu adds that they feel pressured to submit to him, because Sora is a good person.

Rikuto thinks to himself that what he saw of Sora doesn't seem to be the case - to Rikuto, Sora is more like a tyrant.

Seiya remarks that he's surprised to hear that Rikuto tried to hit on Kanon. Rikuto says that it's because she's cute, which makes Hayamuu shocked at how straightforward Rikuto is.

Hinata asks Rikuto if he's serious. Blushing a little, Rikuto says that he is, even though he doesn't know if it will work out. Seiya notes out loud that Rikuto seems to prefer older ladies. Sena says that if Rikuto is serious, then they can't stop him. Hamayuu says that he's worried, because even though Rikuto is handsome, he actually is not used to romance - Rikuto flinches.

Rikuto's Plan

Hamayuu suddenly goes into glasses mode and starts analyzing Rikuto. After considering various factors, Hamayuu concludes dramatically that Rikuto has an overwhelming lack of love experience. He suggests for Rikuto to be prepared because his rival is Sora.

The next morning at school, with needing to gain experience in mind, Rikuto kabedons Yamabuki (she was just passing by) and asks if she's free today. Yamabuki is bewildered while Hinata panics when he sees it. Rikuto then backs off, saying that he was just kidding and apologizes to Hinata. (Yamabuki doesn't seem to be bothered at all).

Sora and Kanon appear, greeting Rikuto and Hinata. Rikuto notices that Kanon and Sora are together and asks if they go to school together. Sora tries to go, "Of course ❤", but Kanon quickly clarifies, saying that he arbitrarily did it - she usually goes to school with other friends, but somehow they didn't show up today. (Sora teases Kanon, saying that it's because he was worried she'd get into an accident or something. Kanon retorts angrily that she isn't an elementary school student.)

Rikuto thinks to himself that Sora must have left the sharehouse early, which is why they didn't meet. Rikuto had planned on waiting at the school entrance, thinking he might get a chance to talk to Kanon, but Sora being around threw his plans off.

Hinata whispers to Rikuto, suggesting that he can go to Kanon's classroom during breaktime to look for her. Rikuto is touched at Hinata's consideration and teases that he'd fall in love with Hinata.

Tough Opponent

Hinata accompanies Rikuto while he visits Kanon's classroom during their break, but finds Sora chatting with Kanon (Kanon and Sora are classmates). Rikuto decides to try again during lunch break, but Kanon is eating with Sora.

Between classes, Kanon is also accompanied by Sora - during clean up time and even after school.

Back at the sharehouse, Sora proudly sighs that he was being stared at in school all day. Seiya responds that it's because Sora is popular, and Sora "humbly" says that he wish he were. Rikuto hears the exchange and is irritated. Hinata nervously whispers to Rikuto that Sora is indeed a formidable opponent.

What To Do?

Hinata says that Rikuto only has committee meetings or club time as opportunities to talk to Kanon, but those have already ended. Rikuto sighs that the sports festival was also a rare occurrence.

Other than that, Rikuto also wonders to himself what he would talk to Kanon about even if he were to call out to her.

Just as Rikuto is busy thinking, the house cat (Chobi) meows and approaches him. Sena remarks that Chobi is very attached to Rikuto. Rikuto is also very fond of Chobi.

Then, Sora informs that he's going to take a bath and asks Rikuto if he wants to join him. He adds that he's from the swimming club, so he has a nice body. Rikuto refuses. (Sena asks to join Sora, though.)

The Next Day

Rikuto notices Kanon being accompanied by Sora at lunchtime again. This time, the two of them are in the courtyard. He wonders how to get Kanon alone.

Hinata also sees Sora and Kanon together, lamenting Rikuto's missed opportunity. He tells Rikuto that Rikuto can join them for lunch as three people, and that Rikuto doesn't need to worry about him. It's hard for Rikuto because Sora and Kanon are always together. Rikuto agrees and says that he has no choice but to get between them. Hinata cheers for him.

Suddenly, a couple of girls near them squeal, as they are excited to see Sora. Rikuto approaches them and asks if they like Sora. They are also happy to see Rikuto, and answer that they do like Sora. Rikuto seems to have a suggestion to make to them.

Kanon and Sora

Sora marvels that Kanon's bento looks delicious and asks for a croquette. However, she declines to give him one. She then asks how he knew that she had a bento. Sora replies that it's because he's a mind reader about all things related to Kanon, but she says that he probably looked into her bag, and asks him to stop doing that.

Just then, the two girls that Rikuto spoke to earlier approach them and call out to Sora. They say that they are Sora's fans and ask to have lunch with him, because they want to get closer to him.

Sora tries to turn them down, but the two girls grab his arm and drag him away.

Kanon and Rikuto

Kanon wonders out loud where Sora is being dragged to, but isn't bothered at all. She continues eating, happily popping a croquette into her mouth, saying that she loves croquettes.

Rikuto takes the chance to approach her and asks if she likes croquettes. She answers that she does, and asks Rikuto if he's having his bento in the courtyard too. However, Rikuto only has bread that he bought.

Immediately, Kanon exclaims that bread is simply a snack - he needs to eat vegetables and meat too. She offers to share her bento with him.

Looking at the lunchbox, Rikuto asks if she always eats this amount of food. He remarks that it's cute, which triggers Kanon. She asks if he's trying to say that it's small like her. Rikuto says that she's mistaken and panics a little, wondering if he made her mad.

Rikuto clarifies that he feels bad taking her food, to which Kanon says that it's fine. Rikuto then asks her if it's ok if he joins her to eat. With a cheerful smile, Kanon answers that of course it's fine.

Sora and the girls

Sora is still being dragged somewhere by the two girls. He asks them where they're going. They answer that they're going to the school cafeteria and ask him to take a video with them. Trying to please the girls, he says that they are cute, which makes him happy, even though he's more of the type to want to take the lead (instead of being brought around).

The girls cutely say that he must be lying, because they heard that he prefers the more aggressive types. Confused, Sora asks them who they heard it from, and the girls say that it's a secret, but he kabedons them (they get lovestruck) and smoothly demands the answer from them.

Kanon and Rikuto (continued)

Kanon wonders out loud where Sora went, and Rikuto answers, "I wonder." (Kanon pouts to herself while Rikuto turns away from her and goes, "Bleh-".)

Rikuto asks Kanon if she always eats together with Sora. Kanon explains that she's with him more often recently because his club activities have ended. Also, her close friends have boyfriends, so her friends go to eat with their boyfriends. Sora was most likely looking out for her and accompanying her so that she won't be alone.

Rikuto then asks Kanon if it's really true that she doesn't have a boyfriend. She confirms that it's true, but adds that it's only now. Hence, Rikuto asks how long has she been single. Kanon stutters, not knowing how to answer. She then admits that she never had one and apologizes for lying just so she could appear like a senior.

Cute

Rikuto shares that he has never had a girlfriend before either. Kanon can't believe it and says that he's lying, but he says that it's true. He says that he was wondering if Kanon and Sora were dating, but Kanon says that he's just a childhood friend to her. Furthermore, Sora changes girlfriends frequently. It's a mystery to her why he's so popular. Sora is someone who tells anyone that they're cute.

Rikuto touches Kanon's hair and tells her that even though he looks like his, he is earnest and doesn't lie. He blushes, looks at her in the eyes and says, "I won't say 'cute' unless I really think so."

Kanon looks amazed and remarks, "I see...!! So this is how it feels to be called 'cute' normally!! My heart skipped a beat." Rikuto asks, "...Don't you hate being called cute?"

Kanon suddenly gets very indignant and confirms that she hates it, because being called cute seems to imply that she's short. However, while she hates it, if she's honestly being called "cute", she will probably be happy. She cheekily giggles while Rikuto gazes at her.

Lunch Again?

Rikuto narrates: I'm certain that there are many people who genuinely find her cute, but it's strange that they just can't get it through to her. I'm troubled by how I just find her adorable whenever she smiles mischievously. It's a relief to know that she wants to be called "cute". Someday, when I can say it, I want to say it to her a lot.

Both of them get up to return to their classes. Rikuto asks if he can have lunch together with her again, and Kanon says "Okay!" with a bright smile, which makes Rikuto blush and smile.

Later That Day

Back at the sharehouse, an annoyed Sora confronts Rikuto, saying that Rikuto lied and tricked him earlier today. However, Rikuto says that it's just his imagination.

Sora huffs and says that it's fine. He starts bragging to Rikuto that after lunch, as he didn't get to eat anything, Kanon got very concerned, so they went to eat pancakes together. He adds, "Ah- Eating so happily- Kanon was so cute ❤".

Rikuto feels annoyed as he thought he managed to get a win over Sora. Childhood friends are hard to beat after all.

Chobi approaches Rikuto again, seeking affection. He strokes her, thinking that she's cute for seemingly trying to console him.

Sora's Weakness

Rikuto then suddenly notices that Sora has stiffened up. Sora panics and starts to run away, because Chobi starts to get aggressive towards him.

As Sora runs away with Chobi fiercely chasing after him, he shouts for Rikuto to tell him if Chobi is around. Hinata appears beside a bewildered Rikuto, explaining that Chobi dislikes Sora.

Seiya and Hamayuu add that Sora liked Chobi, but when he moved in, he was too happy, was annoying and thus became hated by Chobi - which is also why Chobi seldom goes to the living room.

Hinata asks if this is Sora's weakness. Rikuto simply remarks, "I see...". He decides to try his best, earnestly.
