Picking up from the previous chapter, Kametani had said to Kirino that he may have come to understand the reason he finds her different from other girls. Kirino blushes, anticipating something heart-pounding.
Kametani also touches her hair and backs her into a wall. He tells her with a bright smile, "...To me, you are probably just like a male friend!"
Kirino is stunned speechless. Sensing other people approaching, Kametani backs away and asks her to chat on LINE about where they should go during the summer break.
Kirino is devastated. She wonders miserably if she's even being seen as a girl.
Summer Break
It's now a week into summer break and Kirino is restless at home from a lack of Kametani. She feels lonely not being able to see him.
Her phone chimes with a text from Kametani. She had asked him if he had any place in mind, but Kametani said that he's not familiar with the area, so he'd want to go sightseeing. He also asked where she would like to go, and she answered that she wanted to go someplace where they could make summer memories.
Kirino is determined to let Kametani enjoy himself and more importantly, make him realize that she is a girl!
Meeting up
Kirino is dressed cutely in an off-shoulder blouse and short skirt for her meet-up with Kametani, ready to give him a nosebleed. She's not used to dressing this way, though.
Kametani arrives, still wearing a mask, but looking fashionable in his own clothes. Kirino is overwhelmed by how good he looks and ends up being the one getting a nosebleed.
Getting excited, Kirino says, "Let's begin! Our date!" and Kametani blushes, going, "Huh?! Da-date? What..."
Kirino realizes that Kametani doesn't see this as a date, so she says that she worded it wrongly. She clarifies herself, saying that today, she will introduce Kametani to the famous sights in the area.
Zoo!
Kirino brings Kametani to the zoo! Kametani seems impressed. Kirino points out the animal petting area to him. She plans to show off her femininity to Kametani at the petting area with a cute guinea pig in her hands.
However, when she tries to get Kametani's attention, she realizes that the animals are all over him - inside his shirt, gnawing at this mask, licking his face - and he's asking her for help. Kirino nosebleeds again at the sight of Kametani being assaulted. She happily thanks the animals while Kametani cries out for her to save him.
Keychain
After leaving the petting area, Kirino accidentally bumps into someone and their bag drops. The contents of the bag also spill out.
Apologizing and bending down to pick up the bag's contents, she notices a keychain. It's a keychain of a character she likes, from a doujinshi artist that she follows. The character looks just like Kametani.
Kirino asks the bag's owner if the character is from sakura00 (the name of the doujinshi artist). She tells the person that she is also interested in sakura00's works. Then, she apologizes for getting ahead of herself and blabbering to him. The person asks if she likes the doujinshi artist, and Kirino eagerly answers that she's a big fan. The person smiles at her and says that he will give the keychain to her. He then leaves.
Kirino marvels at her luck in receiving such a rare item. Kametani congratulates her, then asks where they're headed next. Kirino suggests that they check out the "handsome gorilla".
Monkeys...!
The gorilla is indeed suave. Kirino confidently thinks to herself that she won't lose to it, and asks Kametani if he finds her or the gorilla more good-looking. However, Kametani is completely absorbed in watching the gorilla.
Kirino then points out a gibbon to Kametani. She tries to imitate the gibbon and asks with a smiling face, whether he finds it adorable. Kametani blushes and mutters, "...Yeah.", though Kirino doesn't really notice. Kirino thinks to herself that her seduction techniques may have failed, but she's still having a lot of fun.
I'm on a date with her!
Kametani realizes that he forgot something and asks Kirino to wait for him. She sits on a bench while waiting, and two guys suddenly approach her. She realizes that they're trying to hit on her and that her seduction techniques have taken effect in this sort of situation.
Kirino tries to politely reject them, but the guys are persistent. They take her hand and try to bring her elsewhere, but when Kirino tries to resist, Kametani comes back.
Kametani holds Kirino to his chest and tells the guys that she is on a date with him. He proceeds to glare angrily at them and so the guys leave. Kirino then goes, "Ka-Kametani-kun, earlier... you said, date..."
Kametani blushes and answers that she was the one who called it a date first. Kirino blushes.
It looks good on you
Kirino then bows deeply to thank Kametani for his help. Her skirt flies up a little when she bows and she gets embarrassed, saying that she might have revealed her panties. She bashfully remarks that she shouldn't have worn clothes that she wasn't used to.
Kametani suddenly covers Kirino with his jacket and asks her to put it on. He also blushes while telling her that her clothes look good on her. Kirino blushes and asks, "R-really?", but Kametani ruffles her hair and turns away while blushing, saying that they should move on. While blushing, he also reminds her to stay close to him.
Kirino wonders to herself if she's been able to make him recognize that she's a girl.
Festival...?
Kirino tells Kametani that it's getting dark, so they should head back. However, Kametani asks if she can stay out a little later, because there's somewhere else he wants to go.
It's a festival. Kirino asks if he wanted to come because Kirino had said that she wanted to go someplace where she could make summer memories. Kametani blushes and denies it.
Kametani hurries them somewhere, and when they arrive, the sky is lit up with fireworks. He's happy to have made it in time. He explains that the crowd is thinner in this spot, so this is his return gift for today. He's holding a magazine titled "Recommended Spots for Summer". Kirino blushes, comprehending that he did this for her.
I want to...
While enjoying the fireworks, Kirino thinks to herself that she's getting overwhelmed by her feelings towards Kametani. It already feels indulgent that she's been admiring him as a stan, but having him now do such things for her is making her feel more greedy.
Blushing furiously, Kirino stares at Kametani and finds that he is also smiling gently back at her. She thinks to herself that she wants to become his girlfriend.
Kirino inches closer to Kametani and takes his hand in hers. Kametani reacts by blushing and going, "What, you..."
Kirino leans her head on his shoulder and asks, "...Am I still considered your 'male friend'?"
