Summer Break
Hibari narrates that for the first time in her life, she has a boyfriend over the summer break.
Hibari's friend from her part-time job (Airi) is surprised to find out from Hibari that even though she has Gaku's apartment key, she's not heading to Gaku's place after work. Airi squeals that if it were her, she would semi-cohabit with her boyfriend and fulfill the three great desires in bed (*ahem* ๐).
Hibari explains that this is all her first time, so she really doesn't know what to do. Airi sighs and says that it can't be helped.
Hibari's manager comes over and requests for her to make a delivery to the studio next door.
Delivering Ramen
Gaku and his band members are in the studio! They thank Hibari and Airi for bringing their ramen over. However, Gaku suddenly kabedons Hibari, saying that she hasn't been to his apartment at all. Hibari blushes and tries to explain that it's because he's been writing songs and all, but Gaku tells her that he said before that she can come anytime.
Gaku's band members watch them from aside (while eating their ramen on the floor) and comment on how Gaku is feisty as ever. Gaku then says that he wants to take a promotional picture for their new song, and he wants Hibari to be the one to take the photos.
Gaku's band member (Kyouhei) exclaims that he wants to go to the sea to take the pictures.
At the Beach
The four band members + Hibari and Airi head to the beach the very next day. Gaku and Kyouhei are super excited and immediately dash towards the sea. Hibari tries to remind them that their clothes are going to get wet, but Airi suggests that the wet look is cool. Jouichirou and Momo thank the girls for coming.
Hibari prepares to take pictures of the band members and narrates that she's feeling even more nervous about this than for her assignments, as this is her first time.
As the guys pose, Gaku gazes at her (with smoldering eyes), which leads Hibari to blush. She's reminded of the fact that she's kissed him, which leads her to blush even more and become surprised when she finds herself thinking about such things.
Meanwhile, the guys attract the attention of other girls at the beach, who find them cool (especially Gaku). Other people start taking pictures of them. Hibari can't take pictures properly, so she suggests changing locations.
Running Away
Gaku agrees, going up to take Hibari's hand and walking away. The other girls watch disapprovingly. Hibari notices the gaze of the other girls and lets go of Gaku's hand.
When Gaku turns to look questioningly at Hibari, she stutters and says she has to go to the restroom. She then proceeds to run away. Gaku calls after her, but he gets surrounded by the other girls (and he gets annoyed at them).
Jouichirou and Momo wonder aloud if Hibari is all right. Airi says that she will go to Hibari to check on her. However, she trips and hurts her hand from glass on the ground. Jouichirou says that their car has a first aid kit to disinfect the wound. Airi is surprised when he says that (she's shy), but Jouichirou tells her that it's fine, so she should come with him. She blushes.
At the car, while disinfecting Airi's wound, Jouichirou apologizes to her, saying that he'd said he'd treat her to lunch at school (Chapter 7), but it's summer break now. Airi blushes furiously while stuttering out her response, saying that it's fine and that she's so happy that he called her by name that she could die. Jouichirou laughs.
Airi gets caught up in the moment and blurts out, "......I like you."
Hibari and Airi
A while later, Hibari is squatting on the floor somewhere near the beach and Airi comes running towards her. Airi tells Hibari that she said "I like you" to Jouichirou, but tried to cover it up by adding that she liked Stamina don (in Japanese, Airi said ๅฅฝใใงใ(suki desu), so her cover up was stamina don).
Still blushing furiously and panicking, Airi says that her feelings were supposed to be just admiration, but it seems like it's different. She embarrassedly chides herself for letting it slip out, lamenting that it was really awkward.
Glancing at Airi, Hibari thinks to herself that Airi is adorable. She asks Airi how Jouichirou reacted. Airi says that he was surprised at first, but responded that he liked stamina don as well.
The two girls sit next to each other, watching the sea. While Airi is still trembling in shock from her "confession", Hibari looks at her and gently says that she wishes she could be like Airi. Airi asks her why, but she doesn't answer. (However, Hibari narrates that she admires how Airi is straightforward with her feelings.)
Hibari and Gaku
Hibari stands up and notices that Gaku is approaching them. He's dripping wet. Hibari blushes upon seeing him and he carries her away (like he's carrying a potato sack ๐). Jouichirou and the other guys find Airi.
Gaku walks along the beach (still carrying Hibari like a sack). Hibari goes, "I-I'm sorry! We came all the way to take photographs, but I ended up talking to Airi. There were people gathering around too, which made me disoriented......"
Hibari realizes that she's just making up excuses. Thinking that she needs to correct herself, she blurts out that Gaku looked cool. She explains that she strangely felt conscious of Gaku during the photoshoot. It's her first time being in a relationship, so she doesn't know what to do, such as things like finding a good time to go to his place.
Gaku is silent for a moment, then he judo-tosses Hibari onto the sand (gently). He asks, "Basically, it means that you like me, right?"
Hibari blushes while Gaku gazes at her. After a shy moment of hesitation, Hibari says yes. Gaku responds by suddenly rustling Hibari's hair, then taking her camera and shooting a picture of her (startling Hibari). He then laughs and says that she's adorable.
Lying down and laying his head on Hibari's chest, Gaku suddenly relaxes and sighs that he was searching for her, even going into the sea to look for her. Hibari is surprised, but Gaku proceeds to squeeze her cheeks with his hand. They then face each other (lying down next to each other on the sand) and are about to kiss, but Hibari notices that Gaku has fallen asleep.
Hibari's Thoughts
Hibari calls Airi to inform her and the band members that Gaku has fallen asleep. Jouichirou and Momo remark that it's unusual, but Kyouhei says to let him sleep, because Kyouhei's found himself some girls.
Still lying on the sand, Hibari gazes fondly at a sleeping Gaku and thinks to herself that this might be the first time a boy has called her cute. She narrates that she hopes to like herself more through the person she likes.
Later that night, Hibari is looking through the camera roll and picks out a good picture of the band. She wants to try making something like a poster.
While looking at other posters for reference, Hibari spots a design that she likes, done by a certain person called M.J.D.
(The end of the chapter also shows a small thumbnail of the picture of Hibari that Gaku took. She exclaims that it looks hideous ๐)
