Talking it out with Iryuu

Iryuu says that it might rain on the way home, so he plans to walk with her. Saku begins to say that it doesn't matter, but Iryuu insists. He looks down.

After a pause, Saku says that as Kotono said to her earlier, she isn't a good person. She realized that she was just pretending to be a good girl because she was afraid of thinking that she was nothing.

Saku thanks Iryuu for liking her and says that she's happy to receive his kind intentions, but she can't be his girlfriend. He then asks if this means that she likes Haruki, and she nods her head.

Iryuu says that Haruki has his childhood friend and that Haruki doesn't suit her - he suits her better. He also says that he hasn't shown her his best sides yet. Leaning his head on Saku's shoulder, he asks her why she doesn't look his way.

Saku answers that from talking to Iryuu, she can immediately tell that he's a great person. However, no matter how good he is, her heart has always been with Haruki, so she can't look his way. She says that if she isn't compatible with Haruki, she will change - she will become more honest with herself.

She narrates that even if Haruki ended up choosing Hazuki, her feelings for him won't disappear. She tells Iryuu that she's ready to face the pain now.

Iryuu laments that Saku had to become a good person at this time. However, he smiles and tells her to continue to face her own feelings properly, turn him down and become a good person. He then says that Saku better go and meet Haruki now, to which she thanks him and leaves.

While running to meet Haruki, Saku apologizes to herself for ignoring her voice of her heart, which was speaking so loudly and clearly to her the whole time.

Meeting Haruki

Saku finally meets Haruki at the shelter they always meet up at. She thanks him for meeting her, while Haruki replies that he wanted to return her umbrella anyway, and also talk about what happened earlier in the day, as he still had things to talk about.

Saku interrupts him by apologizing to him for cutting him off earlier (in Chapter 32), explaining that she didn't want to hear about it. She was scared to hear that he had realized his feelings for Hazuki. She also felt that she was no match for Hazuki, so she used the "good person'' image to justify her actions.

Tears rolling down her face, Saku apologizes for not accepting Haruki's honesty. She says that no matter how scary it is, she knew she had to tell him this, if not she wouldn't be able to be herself.

She tells Haruki that she likes him, even if he already likes someone else.

Haruki's Thoughts

Haruki hugs Saku. He tells her that he had thought she had feelings for Iryuu, but he still couldn't give up his feelings. Looking at Saku in the eye, he tells her that he likes her.

Saku apologizes again to Haruki for hurting him just because she didn't want to face the part of her that she didn't want to see. Haruki says that he understands so it's okay.

Haruki explains that it wasn't his feelings for Hazuki that he was ignoring, but his inferiority complex towards his brother, Ryousuke. These were the things that he wanted to talk about.

Haruki says that from now on, if there are any misunderstandings, it would be good if they can meet up and talk just like this. Saku adds that from now on, she will properly listen to what her heart tells her and be honest. Haruki smiles at her and says that he believes in her, so she believes in him too.

They hug each other tightly, then look at each other. Haruki blushes, then leans in to kiss Saku. Saku narrates that she doesn't need to be a "good girl", she just needs to be her true self.

At School

Saku thanks Kotono for scolding her and getting her to snap out of her thoughts. Kotono says that Saku's message from yesterday was already enough to relay her thoughts to Kotono. She tells Saku to go on ahead to leave, as Haruki is waiting for her. Saku says bye to her and leaves with Haruki.

Mitoshi approaches Kotono and asks if she's alright. She smiles and says to him that it must have been hard for him, to be caught between her and Haruki - but she is fine. Mitoshi tells her that it's ok if she doesn't force herself to be cheerful, even if all he can do is listen to her. After a short pause, Kotono tugs on Mitoshi's sleeve and asks if he wants to listen to why she's feeling fine.

Iryuu and his friends see Saku and Haruki walking together. Iryuu's friend awkwardly asks him if he's happy that the person he likes seems happy. Iryuu answers that yes, even though the person he likes is dating someone else, it's best as long as they are happy - that he won't say such things (because it makes him sound like he was bitter about losing). Instead, Iryuu says that he thinks they should hurry up and break up, because he is more honest and cute.

Iryuu narrates that no matter the outcome, falling in love with someone isn't so bad.

Haruki and Saku

The two of them are sitting on a bench, planning to visit the planetarium again. Haruki suggests viewing other exhibits before the show.

Saku apologizes again for using her "good girl" image and going home that day. She says that she no longer intends to become a "good girl" but her feelings of not wanting to ignore people in trouble has not changed. She is thankful to the "god" from that time (I think she is referring to the person who opened the train window for her and returned her bag.)

Haruki asks Saku about the details of how the "god" helped her, as until today he has not heard about it in detail before. Saku is surprised that she hasn't told him and is about to explain, but a leaf falls on her head. Haruki laughs and says that she looks like a tanuki.

Saku laughs as well and shares that in her elementary school, she played as Tanuki 2 in her school's performance. She thought at that time that there were many others who could play that role, but no one actually really said that. Only she could play her role.

Haruki agrees, saying that it was thanks to Saku that he understood that it was fine to be himself. Saku teases that she must be Haruki's "god" and he says that she's not wrong.

Haruki then realizes the time and says they need to go. He grabs Saku's hand and they begin to run.

Who Really is Saku's "God"?

There's a flashback to when Haruki was on the train. He thinks to himself that compared to Ryousuke, he can only earn points for being kind. It wasn't what he intended, but everyone seems to think that way, and he can't do anything about it.

Just then, he sees a girl towards the side leaning weakly against the pole. He then asks a man if he may open the train window, and when the man consents, Haruki opens the window to let fresh air in. The girl looks revitalized.

The girl exits the train at the next station, but Haruki notices that she left her bag behind. He turns in the bag to the station staff, who asks him to leave his contact details behind, so that the person may thank him later.

Haruki thinks to himself that being thanked doesn't matter, but he begins to write his contact details. After writing his family name, Haruki thinks to himself that if it's Ryousuke, no one will be disappointed, so he decides to write Ryousuke's name and telephone number.

As he leaves, Haruki looks at the bag and thinks to himself that it looks hand-made and has been used a lot. He smiles and thinks that the bag must be important to the owner.

End of flashback.

In the present, Haruki and Saku walk hand-in-hand, smiling together. The narration reads: Anyone can be someone's god, and just thinking that way makes the world a kinder place. You make the gentle colors bloom.
