Is He Jealous?
Picking up directly where the previous chapter left off, Kametani is still holding onto Kirino's hand and placing it close to his mouth. Kirino has realized to herself that Kametani was feeling jealous.
She thinks, 'With this, it basically seems like Kametani, towards me,--'
Kirino suddenly punches herself to halt the thought, which shocks Kametani. She tells herself that it's impossible. Standing up, she tells Kametani that they should return to the classroom, and runs off.
Kametani silently watches her, while she narrates: That was dangerous. I almost misunderstood. His jealousy must be the same as the kind of jealousy that idols might feel if they see their fan stanning a new idol (she imagines Sakurai as the new idol and Kametani as the old idol).
Day 1 of School Trip
Kirino and gang are going for their school trip! They are getting seated in the train.
Sakurai and Kametani are seated opposite each other. Sakurai calls out to Kirino to get her and Tera to join them. Tera remarks that Sakurai is really a prince - he's quick to even find seats.
When Kirino approaches them, Sakurai asks her if she wants the window seat, but before she can say that it doesn't matter, Kametani tugs Kirino towards him and tells her to sit next to him. Kirino is happy to oblige, while Tera and Sakurai sweat-drop watching the couple's interaction.
Snacks
On the train journey, Kirino presents all of the snacks that she brought. Tera says that it's too much and Kirino chuckles. She asks Kametani which snack he would like.
Kametani picks a pocky snack and starts nibbling on it. Kirino thinks to herself that she really wanted to see Kametani eating snacks, so she couldn't control herself and bought a lot. Also, she feels that the Kametani who likes eating sweet snacks is cute.
Sakurai also brought snacks and offers for Kirino to try some. While she decides which one to open, Sakurai tells her to open her mouth as he is about to feed her a piece.
Kirino opens her mouth to accept the snack, but Kametani, who was watching, barges in to eat the snack from Sakurai's fingers instead.
Sakurai is stunned. Kametani then proceeds to take another piece to try to feed Kirino with it. Kirino simply dazedly eats the snack, then thanks Kametani. She wonders if Kametani did all that out of jealousy, but quickly dismisses her thoughts, thinking to herself that it's impossible. She knows that it's impossible, but can't help feeling conscious about it.
Arriving at Kyoto
Kirino and Tera are pumped up. They immediately change into yukatas to get into the mood.
Kirino can't wait to see how Kametani would look in a yukata. When Kirino and Sakurai get changed and appear, Kirino's jaw drops from how good they look. She goes up to Kametani and bows, claps her hands, then bows again towards him, as if making a prayer to a god.
Shrine and Fortunes
The group goes to various places to sightsee and take many pictures. They walk past Kiyomizu-Dera and Yasaka Shrine. Tera mentions that Yasaka Shrine is good for praying for love.
While the girls discuss among themselves that they will get fortune slips, Sakurai turns to Kametani and asks him if he has anyone he likes. He also asks Kametani if Kametani would have any interest in praying for love.
Kametani goes, "......Hah?", but their conversation is interrupted by Kirino exclaiming that she got Bad Luck for her fortune slip. Tera got Medium Luck. Sakurai suggests for him and Kametani to get fortune slips too.
On Kametani's fortune slip, under "The Person You're Waiting For", the fortune says, "They are right in front of you." Kirino is in his direct line of vision as he reads the fortune.
Kametani suddenly has a flashback of various things Kirino said in previous chapters. In the present, Kirino finishes tying her fortune slip onto the ropes and with a bright smile, asks Kametani how his fortune was. Kametani seems to have a sudden realization, and he blushes to himself.
Turning away, he says to Kirino that he won't tell her, leading Kirino to go, "Eh!! (Did Kametani also get Bad Luck...?!)"
Pottery Workshop
Tera and Sakurai remark that molding the clay is rather challenging. However, Kametani doesn't seem to find it difficult as he declares that he's finished. Kirino is impressed and compliments Kametani, saying that he's nimble with his hands.
Kirino tries to mold her clay but gets stumped. Then, Kametani suddenly approaches her from behind and puts his hands over hers. Guiding her, he tells her, "Do it gently but firmly. Don't think about any other thing and just focus on feeling my hands."
Kirino blushes, but with Kametani's guidance, she manages to shape the clay into a pot. Kametani is pleased and smiles, saying, "Yes, that's good."
Kirino blushes furiously upon seeing Kametani's smile and shyly thanks him. She thinks to herself that Kametani's smile was dangerous.
Kametani stares at Kirino, leading her to ask him what's wrong. Going to sit next to her, Kametani answers, "I wanted to look, so I'm looking, that's all." Kirino blushes some more while narrating: It's impossible. It's supposed to be impossible.
Aside, Sakurai asks Tera if Kametani and Kirino are dating, but Tera says they aren't, though she doesn't get what's going on between the 2 of them.
At Night
In their bedroom, Kirino exclaims to Tera that Kametani's idol charisma is way too strong and it's making her life (as a fan) very difficult.
Tera asks her, "What? Aren't you guys dating yet?", to which Kirino answers that there's no chance of that happening. She laments that she tried so hard not to see their relationship as something romantic. Tera remains speechless, not knowing what to say.
Meanwhile, Kirino's phone vibrates. There's a text from Kametani, asking her what she's doing.
The next message line from Kametani says, "I wanna see you." and when Kirino sees it, she throws her phone aside from surprise. Tera asks her what happened.
After showing Tera Kametani's text, she asks Kirino, "What do you think? Do you want to see him?". Kirino blushes, then shyly says yes.
Tera is silent for a moment, then raises her fist and tells Kirino that she'll pummel her. When a surprised Kirino asks her why, she replies, "You're making such an obvious happy and adorable face. Why are you restricting yourself so much? Tell him to come over to this room. (I'm going next door.)"
Just before leaving the room, Tera reminds Kirino to properly think about what she really wants for herself.
Kametani Visits
While Kirino ruminates on Tera's words, Kametani shyly enters Kirino's room. Tera's words have made Kirino even more conscious of Kametani. She blushes and awkwardly asks him what's up.
Kametani explains shyly, "...Today, somehow, I don't know why, but I didn't want to be apart from you."
Kirino's jaw drops at the statement while she blushes and thinks to herself, 'Saying this sort of thing again...!'. Kametani sits down in front of her.
Suddenly, they hear their teacher call out from outside, "Hey, aren't you guys sleeping yet?" and get startled. Kirino whispers to Kametani in a panic to hide under Tera's blanket. However, Kametani ends up pushing Kirino down onto the same futon and covers them both with the blanket.
Kirino blushes and asks Kametani why, but he tells her to remain quiet.
Teacher's Inspection
Their teacher informs that they will be entering and opens the door to the room.
The teacher sees Tera's soft toy and body pillow on Tera's futon (which is why Kametami couldn't hide there) and also that Kirino's futon is occupied (since there's mass below the blanket). The teacher asks, "Oh, you're asleep? Did I hear wrongly...? (I thought I heard talking...)".
Meanwhile, Kametani is still hovering over Kirino. He whispers, '...You have the same scent as I do." and Kirino answers quietly that it's because they used the same shampoo provided by the accommodation.
Kametani leans in and smells Kirino's hair and ear. Kirino is about to make a sound, but Kametani quickly puts his hand over her mouth.
Face to face with Kametani, Kirino can hear the pounding of the heart and wonders if it's her heart or Kametani's.
Confession
Kametani says to Kirino, "You're so cute."
The teacher has left the room. Kirino is still in a daze while she asks, "...Eh, ear-earlier, why did you..."
Kirino then gets up abruptly and starts to walk away, asking Kametani if he wants some tea. However, Kametani grabs onto her wrist to stop her.
Wrapping the blanket around her and pulling her close to him, he tells her to come over to where he is. He says, "...Today, I kept thinking about you."
Looking straight into Kirino's eyes and leaning into her, he says, "......I like you."
