Bokura no Suki wa Warikirenai 2 *SPOILERS*
We started dating
After hearing the declaration from Ritsu, Hayato asks Yui and Ritsu on the train to school, about how they started dating. Yui knows that she definitely can't tell him the truth - that she'd developed feelings for him, her older brother, and that Ritsu had found out, and in order to prevent their family from breaking apart again, Ritsu had offered to help her by having them fake as a couple (and at the same time help him avoid his fans).
Ritsu smoothly covers up for Yui, saying that he was the one who asked. Hayato asks Yui if he knows what Ritsu is like - dating any girl who confessed to him, only to break up after a short while.
Ritsu counters that Hayato also had a girlfriend before, which makes Yui feel affected once she finds out.
The train jerks and Yui loses her balance, falling towards Hayato. Hayato says that she can hold onto him, but Ritsu pulls her back into his arms, telling Hayato that that's his job as a boyfriend.
Battle Plan!
Yui decides that she and Ritsu need to come up with a proper story on how they decided to date, so that they won't arouse suspicion by giving conflicting information. They decide to discuss their plan after school.
After school, Ritsu and Yui are leaving the school, holding hands. Yui asks him if they really need to. Ritsu says that it's necessary as part of the act.
Yui tells Ritsu that she's worried because she has zero experience in dating. Ritsu answers that this is his first time dating too, because even though he had dated four girls in the past, they were all too short to mean anything. His growth spurt and sudden popularity had made him get carried away. He adds that his dating history could have been the reason Hayato was so concerned about whether Ritsu was dating Yui seriously.
Yui and Ritsu's relationship
The two of them come to a flight of stairs. Yui recognizes the place as their childhood playground where they played with stray cats in the vicinity.
Ritsu suggests a story to explain their relationship as a couple: In the past, he was always being left behind, but Yui was the only one who was kind enough to slow down to accompany him. Meeting Yui again after being separated for so many years, he was pleasantly surprised and hence wanted to date her.
Yui answers that she didn't feel like she was particularly taking care of Ritsu in the past. She explains that after they became neighbours as children, she had simply found it enjoyable to spend time with Ritsu.
You're not doing anything wrong
Yui regretfully says that she wishes she had grown and changed in a good way, just like Ritsu did. She apologizes to him for making him go through this with her and says that she will try her best to sort out her feelings.
Ritsu reassures her that no one will blame her for anything. He tells her that her heart is free to feel anything it decides to, that it's something she can't control. As long as Hayato doesn't find out about her feelings, it will be fine. This is why they need to keep up the act of fake dating.
Ritsu smiles and tells Yui to just use him. Yui realizes that her feelings of self-loathing and self-doubt about her attraction towards Hayato have all been accepted by Ritsu. She extends a hand towards him to go, "I'll be in your care.", but Ritsu pulls her into a hug instead, saying that they need to get used to such physical contact. He quickly releases her though, saying that he's just kidding.
Yui can't figure Ritsu out, but is reassured that Ritsu accepts her as she is.
Meeting the Mom
Yui and Ritsu return home and run into Hayato and their mother outside their houses. Ritsu greets Hayato and Yui's mother, and she is pleasantly surprised to recognize Ritsu.
Hayato and Yui's mother invites Ritsu into their house for tea. Ritsu starts to decline out of courtesy (Yui is also feeling uncomfortable about the situation), but Hayato says that Ritsu should come along.
"You have something to say to me, don't you?"
